Unlock Your Potential: Shifting Your Mindset to Master the Grind

Yo, listen up, all you artists, producers, singers, rappers and dj’s I’m talking to all of you. You got talent, no doubt, that’s a gift straight from God. But here’s the thing, talent alone ain’t enough. You gotta grind and build your skills to match that talent.

Everyone’s gifted in different ways, but only you can level up your craft and make it hit harder.

Now, most of you reading this are either coming up or got a few tracks out already, but maybe they didn’t pop like you thought. That’s cool, it’s all part of the journey.

The real problem I see with artists coz I work with a lot of you, is you let other people’s opinions control how you move as an artist.

That’s dangerous. If you’re always worried about what they think, it’s gonna mess with your head, and your dream could turn into a nightmare real quick.

A lot of y’all are waiting for the ‘right time’ or the ‘perfect song’ 🙈 man, that’s just talk. In this day and age, you don’t need nobody. You’ve got the internet, and that’s more powerful than any label or radio station. Think about it 🤔 if these big platforms didn’t post on social media, you wouldn’t even know they exist.

As an artist, you gotta learn the process and at least understand the basics. I’ve seen too many artists confused out here, waiting on someone else to guide them. I’ve come across plenty of people (dummies) who talk like they know the game, but they don’t know shit. Just coz they know a few industry folks or did some free work and act like they getting paid, they act like they’re plugged in. Truth is, it’s all BS. No one’s gonna do anything for you unless you’re clued up. More likely, they’ll just take your money and promise you things that never happen.

It’s not that hard to pull out your phone and start recording. If you rap, spit some bars. If you sing, drop a few lines. If you DJ, show a quick mix and producer’s,,,, drop some beats. This ain’t rocket science. Most of you got talent but freeze up in front of the camera coz you’re shy or scared of what people will say.

If that’s you, then you ain’t ready for the spotlight. Artists are hungry for the light 💡always. And yeah, I get it, you want the perfect video, the perfect mix. But if you’re always waiting for perfect, you’re never gonna move. Every time you put yourself out there, you’re growing, learning, and sharpening your skills.

Some of you are worried about not getting enough likes or shares on your posts. Forget that. You gotta build slow. Look at me 😜 I don’t care about the numbers and don’t give the F**K.

Post more on your stories, especially on Instagram. That’s where the game’s headed in the next few years 🕰️ it’s gonna be your personal brand. Trust me, I know how to invest where the money’s at. Show your talent and post at least 3 times a week. If you can post more, do it.

Don’t be the artist chasing people to get stuff done for you. Be the artist they come to. Build yourself so that they need you, whether it’s radio stations, social platforms, or fans. I hear artists talking every day like, ‘I got a hit’—nah, man, that’s old skool talk. Hits are a thing of the past; in 2024, it’s all about going viral. But we talk about that some other time….. Just tune yourself up and get use to posting.

I got another blog dropping in a few days with a step-by-step plan to help you get there. Stay locked in.

Anyway’s check this video out, it’s got some great info.
