Harnek Nain - Gop Virk Collab To Finally See The Light Of Day

Beginnings Of The Collab 

The fundamental origin of the song was actually all the way back in November 2021. Gop Virk wanted to address and bring into the spotlight the Punjab Farmer protests in India. His target audience was the Punjabi community in India specifically as well as all around the world. So what does he do? He approaches the UK-based, self-taught music producer and remixer, Harnek Nain. Harnek delivered a beat, in accordance with Gop’s wants. Pleased with the beat, Gop proceeded to take a few days and pen down the lyrics on the beat.

Recording Time

When it was time to record, Harnek, who was hearing the lyrics on the beat for the first time, although pleased with what he had come up with, felt as if he could do better. He thought he could come up with a different style from the original one as it would do a better job of carrying the lyrics and their message. Despite Harnek communicating this to Gop, the artist decided to stick with the beat and the vibe it brought.

The Real Deal Comes About

With the majority of the work like mixing and production done, Harnek was just sitting about with Gop in the studio putting the final touches while he chatted with the Indian American. The recorded vocals were playing in the background as Harnek was on the keyboard playing different chords, in his words “just chilling.” 

Some of the chords he was playing were to Gop’s liking, so Harnek saw the opportunity he was waiting for and grabbed the chance to show Gop the new style and vibe he had in mind for the song. Harnek got onto his computer and browsed through his recorded guitar’s. Finding the guitar and vibe he had been wanting to put on the lyrics, he mixed it with Gop’s studio recorded vocals. Harnek played out the finished product for Gop, showing him the vibe he had been wanting all along. Such is our (and Gop’s) good fortune that it was 100% to Gop’s liking and he gave it his go-ahead.

Despite the fact that it was a pretty last-minute and quite a significant change to the song, as it would have completely transformed it, Harnek is positive that they have done a great job. He is hopeful that the Punjabi community will receive it warmly and love it for the vibe, the lyrics, and efforts that Gop has put into the entire project.
